I've been looking at taking a nice 2-3 week trip in February and Asia crossed my mind. Has anyone been to Asia in February? Where should I go?

I am looking for a warm, beach location with possible day trips into the country so that I don't get board. I am hoping for an interesting place that isn't touristy, and where locals will leave me alone on the beach to enjoy myself.
